Can a ring sizer have inconsistent accuracy?

Like when it says 8 that size fits but when it says 4 it’s too loose.

Well, a physical measure can be built incorrectly. I have at least on measuring cup which is incorrectly marked.

It could also be used incorrectly.

Otherwise, you might consider what you’re comparing it against.
