Does anyone besides me wonder if the seeming rivalry between GOP camps is just a ploy to get more donations for both sides?

Of course it is.

Politics isn’t about philosophy or leadership or patriotism. It’s always about money – money equals power.

It’s a scam. Don’t fall for it.

I wouldn’t put anything past the GOP of today. The GOP of Ike and Reagan is long dead.

That’s exactly what I thought. In the end they will all be buddy, buddy again with twice as many suckers.

That’s part of it. The politicians go home and laugh at the American public. It’s a show for the most part.

Big money is like an acid eating away at American democracy. All that should matter are the X’s not the $’s. Each party should be given a fixed budget to get their message across and forbidden from spending a cent more.

I agree to an extent but I don’t really see Trump as out for anything except for more money for him.

This isn’t “rival GOP camps”.

Trump wants the money and wants to get what was to be headed to the GOP.

His PAC is very loosely defined, and can pay him and his family “salaries” up to the amount of money they have on hand. In other words, it is a way for Trump to get people to give him money for no benefit other than helping him pay his bills.

Trump will not spend a dime on any GOP candidates. He doesn’t work that way. This is a retooling of his grift.

@Jeruba Interesting question. Diversionary tactics work well sometimes. All sortss of ploys have been used by both sides to raise money.
