When was the last time you were asked to show ID, and for what?
As asked.
My DL is really hard to get to so I put a piece of tape on it to use as a tab to pull on.
I had to show ID the other day but I don’t remember why.

@Dutchess_III Just a few months ago I was asked for photo ID at liquor store.
Every time i go to the ABC (liquor store) to use my credit card.
First time I was asked for ID I was 21 going to a 18 year old 3.2 beer place in Ohio. I’d been getting served and buying at liquor stores and bars since I was 14.
I have to show my ID at our Goodwill when I use my card.
Every time I renew my teaching license I have to show ID. (And finger printed!)
Whenever I pick up gabapentin at the pharmacy.
Whenever stopped by the police. Recently, the light on my license plate was out. Other times , I think its just because I have a messy car interior.
Buying wine at the grocery store a few months ago. Alcohol-related purchases are the main situation in which I have to show ID.
I don’t remember the last time I had to show my DL, but I had to show my Medicare card recently for a doctor’s appt. Have to show it if it’s been 30 days (or is it 3 months?) since the last time you showed it.
I had to show my drivers license when I got my Covid shot/jab.
I keep my license in a foil lined, radio frequency protective sleeve that thwarts RFID readers. Sleeves were supplied by New York State when they went to the new type drivers license with the chip.
Maybe that’s why I had to show it the other day.
When I bought a new car in February.
I had to show it when I picked up a prescription a few days ago. Before that, it was when I got my second covid vaccination.
March 31 (4 days ago), when I got my first Covid shot.
Why are we having to show ID to get the vaccination?
^^ For records, and insurance may be billed for a part of the fees, especially Medicare. I just had to show my registration number on my phone, that’s all.
When I got the vaccine on Friday.
Before that, I had to show it when I renewed my license, a month ago.
I need my work ID (government ID) to get into work every day. I swipe it and the doors unlock.

Today. Airport – getting through security to board a plane. What’s the big deal?

I think my Covid vaccination. That was almost 3 weeks ago.
When I picked up a money order.
@Yellowdog Why did you have to show your ID for Gabapentin? (I take it as well)
Its a controlled substance now, at least in Tennessee.
There’s a market for people who abuse Gabapentin use. Gosh knows why. I accidentally double-dosed my gabapentin once—an extremely high dosage—and all it did was make my eyes a little glassy and myself a little hyper and sleepy at the same time.
I had to show it when I got my vaccines, rather than just my insurance card, because we all had masks on, so they needed to match the ID with the name on the insurance card and the vaccination card.
I can’t remember the last time I showed anyone ID… I think it was the last time I checked in for an airplane flight.
@Yellowdog That’s crazy. I have doubled my dose before and all it did was chill me out slightly. Not like I was high or anything even close.
@Yellowdog and @anniereborn A few years ago I was prescribed gabby for a pinched nerve in my neck. It didn’t work. But it did cause incontinence and make me “bitchy” . I only took it for a couple of days and went to the bathroom every hour or so like I was potty-training a toddler. I absolutely hated it. Who on earth would pay money to take that stuff recreationally? Clearly I don’t have that gene.
Back to the Q… I had to show ID to the cashier at Lowes when I bought a couple of cans of spray paint to show I was over 21, 18?. Apparently they have a rule that they need to card everyone – not just “kids” who look like they are over 21. I’m guessing there was some “tagging” problem somewhere.
I never heard of Gabapentin causing incontinence. But it sounds fun!
I can’t recall the last time I was carded.
@Yellowdog It seemed like a cruel joke. Yuk. It turns out that is actually a well known side effect.
I wish I were incontinent. I’ve always been curious as to what it would be like to have to wear diapers and incontinent undergarments,
@Yellowdog There’s a whole fetish built around that. :)
And just ‘going’ voluntarily doesn’t get it, It has to be true incontinence, involuntary, and puts you in a tight, embarrassing, Inconvenient situation,
I was a bedwetter into my 20’s—was able to control it with two medications when I wanted to become a camp counselor. But now, I’ve got the fetish
I absolutely hated it. Awful. I’d rather have the neck pain.
I was buying some beer the other day and got carded. The store has a policy of carding anyone that looks less than 40. I am 60 so I took it as a compliment!
@LuckyGuy, regarding your experience with Gabapentin -
“But it did cause incontinence and make me ‘bitchy’”
So you mean to say you were pissin’ and moanin’? Lol
I’d trade my pain for incontinence any day. It might even be fun, seeing people’s reactions!
To ride the bus. As a veteran, I get a discount. I also need it when I go to the hospital. I have the new type of veteran ID
Was asked for my ID to register for Covid19 vaccine for my age group ( poof of age group).
About three weeks ago.
I hope in Florida they go into the farm communities and vaccinate people without asking for ID, and especially reassuring the people no one will ask any questions about whether they are here legally. I know with covid testing our health department reassured people that would not be an issue, but still we wound having doctors without borders help in parts of central Florida on the farms. I don’t know whether to think that was a failure for Florida, or showed Florida wanted to do something to address the issue.
I had to show ID to get into my lockbox at the bank today.
