Do you over think your big decisions?

No. I’m fairly spontaneous about most things.

Oh yes, I have to think through every possible outcome before I decide, usually.

”...where to work, pray, eat and learn”

For most folks, those aren’t really “big decisions”.

People work where they can get a job, and are mindful of opportunities for better career paths. But they generally try to work in a way that fosters pursuing their work choice.

“Where to pray” is not a big decision- one follows one’s own belief system, But prayer can occur anytime and any place.

If one spends more than ten minutes trying to figure out where or what to eat, you really aren’t hungry and you are making a big deal over a minor matter that will be of no consequence two hours after it occurs.

What to learn is, again, more a matter of following one’s heart and interests.

Those aren’t big decisions.

Interpersonal interaction – that’s an example of a big decision.

Probably the opposite really . . .

I made a big decision a little while ago.
I don’t remember what it was which probably goes to show,
That many times a simple choice may prove to be essential
Even though it might often appear inconsequential

I must have been distracted when I left my home because
Left of right I’m sure I went. (I wonder which it was!)
Anyway, I never veered: I walked in that direction
Utterly absorbed, it seems, in quiet introspection.

For no reason I can think of, I’ve wandered far astray.

I think I do. I am spontaneous on small things that don’t have any permanent repercussions, but big decisions that actually can cause my life to go down a new path I tend to get analysis paralysis. Especially, if I feel I could lose a lot of money or have no way back to my former situation.
