I’m watching a morning show and they’re featuring celebrities talking about their favorite movie of all time. This is post-Oscars, so everyone is talking movies.
Could you choose one movie as your favorite movie of all time? What movie might that be?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I couldn’t possibly choose just one, but African Queen is always near, or at, the top of the list.
There are so many, but the one that is head and shoulders above the others : Casablanca.
To be honest, I don’t have one favorite movie of all time, because I can see the value of several movies. And also my taste is constantly changing, my list of best movies is subjected to changes. I still remember my top favorite movie used to be Farewell, My Lovely, then it changed to Rififi, and then to Night and the City. The place is now for The Fire Within. Who knows, maybe someday there will be a movie even better than The Fire Within?
The best movie ever made? Citizen Kane.
My favorite movie? Casablanca.
The movie I watch most often? Fight Club.
Sometimes you watch a movie to adjust your mood, and it isn’t your favorite.
I’m with @canidmajor. Can’t choose just one but African Queen is high up there along with To Kill A Mockingbird, Grand Illusion and A Night at the Opera.
Bonus answer: I was very happy with the Oscars this year. I enjoyed the pared down simplicity of it and agreed with the choices of those I had seen. I was also really pleased with the diversity in both nominees and awards.
Started watching movies since the 70s and had seen many from every decade since Hollywood began. Foreign films as well.
Bladerunner.
I don’t think in terms of one “favorite movie of all time”. I have many favorites. The top of my “list” (which needs to have a top, but they’re all different) is Harold and Maude.
The second, and the film I’ve seen the most is the original Star Wars.
^^if you wanna be you be you / and if you wanna be me be me /
there’s a hundred ways to go / you know what you want…
( not exactly the right lyrics I think )
Babette’s Feast
The Oscar’s were so boring this year.
@mazingerz88 ”‘cause there’s a million ways to be, you know that there are…”
^^Ha ha thanks. I put down million at first, changed it to a thousand then down to a hundred.
@Hawaii_Jake I have a Criterion blu-ray of Babette’s Feast. It’s high on my list of great films. Departures, a film from Japan is another.
Chronicles of Riddick is one of my top favorites but I have several in many genre’s.
Casablanca, translated means white house.
My choice would be Blade Runner, the 1982 version.
I’d have a tough time choosing between Casablanca, Mr Smith Goes to Washington, and The Bank Dick
@janbb I need live music and the extended clips from the films to entertain me. I also like the comedy sketches from the host.
I have to pick 2
First one in the comedy section RUTHLESS PEOPLE.
Second in the adventure section RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.
Based on how often I rewatch a movie, it has to be either The Hateful Eight, or Last Action Hero.
Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.
I have hundreds of favorite movies that I love equally but the first movie that always comes to mind is Kubrick’s “Paths of Glory”
