It this quote true about parenting?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) April 28th, 2021

That by the time a kid grows up, and becomes cool they move out?

Humor welcome.

Yeah, totally correct (if I look at my upbringing).
I stayed at my parents until I was finally cool.
And then, at 47, I moved out to live on my own (well, with my girlfriend who made me even cooler).

Not at all. Well, not always. I have kids that have either never grown up, never become cool, or never moved out. All in one in at least one case!

My son was cool before he moved out when he transferred to Cal. He was and is cool despite moving back home and then getting stuck here because of the pandemic.

But je is moving out in June. I will miss him.

Not in my daughter’s case. She was always cool. She never was any problem. A little neurotic, perhaps, but a great kid.
