What did my university minister mean by saying not to get lost?
In Dungeons & Dragons and spending my free time praying and relaxing in the air conditioned sanctuary?

Lots of people in university/college have become atheists, due to the things they learn there. He doesn’t want to lose you to these thoughts/ideas that there is no “God.” (My guess, anyway…)
Perhaps he meant to not get lost doing nothing productive such as playing games or you might wake up at age 42 and not have found yourself.
Did you spend a lot of time praying in the sanctuary?
@LostInParadise Yes mostly during summer break. Also spent lots of time in the computer lab and library.
The sanctuary had the best air conditioning in the campus, and could be locked from the inside and had its own light, and heat controls. I slept in it when ever I could. I was grateful to have such a luxury.
I take it differently meaning Not to get lost being not to complacent in comfort that one doesn’t notice what is happening around then.
The comfort is a false sense of security in that at any time that could change.
Example natural disasters, fires, floods and so on.
Being prepared in case of upheavals in any form. From being robbed to more serious accidents .
