NSFW: Can you help me understand why a man might want to watch his wife having sex with another man?

I’m watching a Netflix documentary about freedom of the press. It centers around a lawsuit brought by Hulk Hogan. In 2016, there was a sex tape leaked to an internet site, Gawker.com, showing Hulk Hogan having sex with his friend’s wife while the friend watched. Hulk Hogan’s suit concerned his belief that something like that should not be published in the public domain, but rather should be something private. (He won the suit and the site shut down in 2016)
I know that the role of the “watcher” is called a “cuckold” or a “cuck.”
I don’t understand what appeal it would be for a cuckold to watch someone else having sex with his (the cuckold’s) wife.

It’s taboo and sexually charged. Why is it odd that someone could get into it?
Specifically it can involve playing with fantasies of power, control, humiliation, homosexuality, objectification and more.
Roger Stone is into that, and it is a mystery to me.
It is a fetish, what more is there to say about it?
Some are into feet, some are into grannies, some like to be physically punished, tied up, have hot wax dripped onto them, or scoop out anuses with their tongue.
Perhaps it could be considered a light subset of masochism, as it is form of self-emasculation.
Also very popular in Hentai, where it is known as ‘Netorare’, or ‘NTR’, usually involving a weak man, his girlfriend/wife having sex with other men behind his back, then being sent a video recording of the whole ordeal.
It’s odd to me too. I wouldn’t find it a turn on at all.
Must be a guy thing.
I dated a photographer, very sexual man, and he said many men were more visual than women. Thus more interest in porn, strippers and other visual stimulation.
No issue for me between consenting adults. Especially to spice up a lonh-term partnership or in medical situations. If the spouse is unable to perform, its actually a very generous, logical solution.
Some men see it is a control thing. Other see it is a masochistic – humiliation turn-on.
This isn’t my cup of tea, but like @KNOWITALL wrote, if everybody involved in happy with it, it’s none of my business.
1. If a guy is older or not able to perform as well, he swallows his pride and and makes sure his wife is happy by letting her have a night with a younger, stronger man. It seems to be a long time running joke that men have trouble pleasing their female partners, so letting her experience real pleasure is obviously looking out for them.
2: Humiliation, which I don’t understand but heard it happens with people in more powerful positions in life. If you’re a boss with a lot of money and social status, it’s a turn on to be brought down a peg temporarily.
3. Odd roman style brotherhood fraternity circles where kids have fun as friends all messing around sexually. Kinda like “hey bro, let’s switch girlfriends, it’ll be a fun time and makes us closer and more intimate as a group.”
Pish…we have staff for that!
I don’t understand it, myself. So, no.
