How to color food safe silicone?

Asked by Jonathan_hodgkins (690points) May 19th, 2021

I am looking to manufacture some small batch kitchen items that I could sell online.

My plan was to make silicone molds of the items from 3D printed parts and then cast the parts in silicone.
There is a food grade silicone but adding colorants negates this. How can I color this parts and still have the products be food safe?

Those products already exist. Why not just buy them?

You can’t. You might be able to alter them some by soaking the dish in mustard or tomato juice/sauce.
Maybe you could buy the silicone already colored and then cast your parts.
