Would you like to see where we live?
We live here
And we have the whole place to ourselves! We have a fire pit and a picnic table. Water, electric and sewer.
We’ve even let the cat out a few times. She has woods to wander in! After she climbed her first tree she was so happy she chomped on my foot!

Looks lovely. Best of luck with it.
It’s not my bag (I prefer less rural, short drive into a major city, and a house) but I hope you love it!
It looks great but where are all the other camper homes?
There was only one other. They’d been here since December. They pulled out today.
Vanta keeps testing us to see if we’ll let her out and, most importantly, if we’ll let her back in. In and out. In and out!
@cookieman… we’re about 45 minutes from Wichita and about the same from Ponca City. We’re just about 8 blocks from downtown in this town.
When I had my house I had so many plants. Some were older than my kids!! Iswore I wouldn’t yoke myself myself with plants in the camper…but they keep sneaking in.
This one is hanging on the shower. The shower has a sky light too.
Your entryway is adorable.
Hang on @janbb. He matches my camper!
Have you been living there the whole time or is this house new?
Been living in this camper since March. We lost the house due to covid.
I’m so sorry to hear that :( But I’m also glad you are enjoying life there.
I miss my house and all the furniture and pictures I spent a lifetime collecting.
Were you able to store anything from your house? Sorry about your COVID-caused troubles.
@Dutchess_III, I’m so sorry that happened to you. How did covid cause that?
And how did you lose the pictures?
It all looks idyllic. Are you allowed in the “woods”, and are you responsible for upkeep of the “lawn”?
That looks beautiful! I’ll bet the sky is clear and dark you can see the Milky Way perfectly.
When you decide to take a cross-country trip be sure to put Western NY on your list. You’d have all the hookups electricity, and the use of the house bathroom.
Beautiful! Cato is very handsome, too.
@kneesox…my husband was in outside sales. He made his money driving around the state talking to people face to face. He lost his job, couldn’t make the house payment any more, and we decided he should file for SSI, since he was past retirement age. I took early retirement and here we are. We lived in the house for 21 years so we got pretty handy proceeds.
@stanleybmanly…we aren’t responsible for mowing, although Rick has offered. We haven’t been told we can’t go in the woods! If the kids come over I won’t stop them. :)
Man I’d head that way in a heartbeat @LuckyGuy!
And THIS plant just beamed down like Close Encounters!
Sorry to hear about your pandemic hardships. Though your current set-up seems like such a lovely way to retire. Sending good thoughts for your next adventures!
Your cat is going to get lost, hurt or killed. Please don’t do that.
^^^ She’s right. Your cat is no match for things he might meet in the woods.
Nice. I moved in March to a place with a courtyard surrounded by trees which I am enjoying, but it’s nothing like having real woods outside the door.
Well, these aren’t really real woods. They’re only about a block deep and then it opens up into a park.
@Dutchess_III, did you just walk away from everything? How did you do that? How did it play out? You couldn’t even get your pictures? How did you stand it?
Did you already own the camper, so at least you had the option?
Yes. We already owned the 5th wheel free and clear.
All our stuff is in storage.
We’re pretty close to buying another house.
We spent 6 months packing and updating walls and decks.
Then it’s not as bad as I thought, though still pretty rough.
No. It was slow. Now we think we have found a little house we can pay cash for.
