How excited are you that Caravan is recording a new album?

Asked by Caravanfan (13877points) May 27th, 2021

I know, the answer is that you give zero shits. But I’m stoked. Here is a photo taken a couple of days ago.

I’m sorry, I never heard of them. I thought you were a fan of a Dodge minivan. Well, I hope you enjoy your music.

@kneesox Don’t apologize. Nobody has heard of Caravan.

I’m sorry, I’ve never heard of them either. I thought you were a fan of gypsy caravans or maybe the caravans that the right-wing were screaming about coming across the border. I’m going to have to check them out now. You’ve got me curious.

@lastexit If you click on my profile I periodically update and change the songs and lyrics. Again, no apologies needed.

I am peeing in my pants from excitement! Or maybe it’s incontinence.

@Caravanfan I checked out the link to the band on your profile. Not bad. Interesting lyrics. Kind of reminds me of something you might hear in the late sixties or early seventies.

@lastexit That’s exactly when that song was written. 1971.

Have to admit that I hadn’t heard of them before you explained your namesake.

Though I did listen to “In The Land of Grey and Pink” when you linked it on the pink question. And I dig it.

When was their last album though? When an artist that I like announces an album after a really long hiatus, I have to admit I’m kind of ambivalent.

Excited that they’re making new music. But also a tad wary that it will mar their impeccable discography.

You’ll have to update us on what you think of it when it comes out. :)

Their last album was Paradise Filter done in 2013. A few of the members did solo albums after that, and then this is the new album. They’re all in their 70s now (except the drummer who is my age) but they can still make music. I’m told by the engineer that it really sounds good.

Just peeked at their discography. They’ve been pretty active since 1968!

LMAO!

Happy for you, but I don’t know their work.

I root for any group that’s still together since the 60’s. They’ve gotta have something going on! I’ll have to check them out.

Until now, I hadn’t been familiar with Caravan. All this time, I’d thought you were someone who enjoys recreational vehicles.

No, I’m not joking; I truly did so. Why do I suddenly feel silly?

Caravanfan's avatar

@Love_my_doggie @raum Every few days I change my avatar and link to a new song. I linked to this one because a question was asked on Fluther about the word “pink”.

@filmfann Nobody knows their work outside of a few people who are familiar with the Canterbury scene in England in the 1960s and 70s.

@Dutchess_III I changed the song on my profile so that when you pee it will be nine feet underground and nobody will smell it.
