Is anyone here getting this 503 error?
I was browsing Reddit a short while ago when the website suddenly shut down and gave me this message. At first I thought it was Reddit’s error, but then I went to Quora and I saw the same message.
Then I realized that a bunch of unrelated websites are also giving me the same message. Some websites just gave me a connection failure error. This is what prompted me to ask.
Does anyone see the same message?
While trying to upload the image, I found out that Imgur is also down right now, although I was able to get there just a few minutes ago.

The Internet broke about four hours ago. They patched it up with Sellotape and string but it’s holding.
This might not apply to Fastly, but some companies don’t have enough equipment redundancy.
E.g., some providers have simplex-processor servers. In those cases, if the main processor fails, then whatever is served by that server, will be offline until that processor is restored to service.
At AT&T, almost all of their critical processing equipment was duplex (redundant). If one processor failed, in most cases, our servers kept running on the other processor.
“Basically, those sites were using a server provider named Fastly, and it crashed.”
Should be: ...using a server named Fastly….
“If one processor failed, in most cases, our servers kept running on the other processor.”
Should be: ...their main frames would continue running on the other processor.
Yeah @Brian1946. I was really scared when I saw so many websites crashed all at once. I thought it was some kind of big hacker scheme :(

I received an email the other day from my older brother to go onto Reddit.
I refused.
I wonder now if many others were emailing to friends and thus crashed the system?
