What is the proper way to eat Ramen noodles with chopsticks?
Do you eat small amounts at a time?

Chopsticks and spoon use chop sticks to put noddles in spoon with broth, eat from spoon.
Or mouth full of noodles . . .from chopsticks !
Suck and slurp.
Many places I’ve lived eat them as described by @Tropical_Willie. You put a manageable portion using chopsticks in the spoon and consume.
However, I learned to eat ramen in Japan. There, you pick up a portion with the chopsticks, carefully guide it to your mouth, and then noisily slurp them up. When the noodles are gone, you pick up the bowl and drink the soup while slurping. The more noise you make tells the cook it is good. Being noisy is also fun.
Hawaii_Jake that really depends on the culture. Here making noise is considered rude.
I understand. I think what I wrote is clearly about Japan. Did I misword it somehow?
No, I know that you are writing about Japan. I just don’t want @RedDeerGuy1 to misunderstand that it’s ok everywhere to make noise, since he isn’t familiar with Asian culture.
Yes, suck and slurp is pretty much standard in Japan, like others have said. I could never do it though because I really didn’t understand the need to slurp the soup noisily. I can understand the noodle suck, maybe even appreciate its appeal…but slurping the soup noisily from the spoon….is just not needed….anyway, when in Japan, be a Japanese…when not in Japan, use a fork to twirl the noodles into a ball and eat without making slurpy noises.
With a fork tied to one of them.
Why bother putting them on a spoon?
To get the broth and the noodles. ^^^^
Sounds like a waste of time. Put the noodles in your mouth and the put a spoonful of broth in your mouth.
Both at the same time, ‘cause you have to slurp the noodles separately !
I probably insult most cultures because I break them up in the package before I cook them, then eat them with a spoon. 8^O
@smudges no, you don’t insult anyone. In fact, you just discovered a favorite food of college students in my school :D We would break it in the package, then open the package and put the spice, then shake the package and eat the whole thing with spoon.
Yes, like peanut butter, they’re a staple in college. Also when you get out of college and don’t have a job yet. LOL
