Do you follow the advice to turn off blue light on your screen or just stop using screens before bedtime?

I tried this on my tablet last night for the first time, with a timed setting. Everything went strangely red, yellow, and brown. Not a good time to be shopping for anything you pick by color, but otherwise I got used to it fairly fast.
Have you done this? Notice any difference in your quality of sleep or how quickly you fall asleep?

Wow, I didn’t know that was an option! I’m such a poor sleeper that I turn off the screens at least an hour before bed.
Yes. And, I wear blue light blocking glasses when working on my computer.
@canidmajor, I’ve been hearing about it for some time and didn’t pay any attention. Tried it out of curiosity.
@cookieman, are you aware of any difference it makes? How long did it take to be noticeable?
I know I should but I don’t go “off-screen” for an hour before bed generally. And if I can’t fall asleep, I often come back on my desktop and check Fluther. Sleep is so unpredictable for me that that doesn’t seem to make a difference; what makes the most difference is if I have anxiety about what the next day holds.
Yes, my phone, laptop, and desktop computer turn the cool light down automatically at 9 PM. I don’t know if it’s made a difference in my sleeping patterns but I prefer it now and the bluer light harsh toward the end of the day.
@kneesox: They definitely reduce headaches.
Nope, I sure don’t. Things on the internet that relax me or distract me at least, help me sleep.
Nope, I’m a great sleeper so I don’t worry about it much.
I have programs that do that set to do so automatically… and I very often disable them, because they seem to make it harder to look at the screen when I’m trying to get things done at night.
I just close the lid on lap top. Any light on at night drives me bonkers.
My phone goes to a night setting automatically. Maybe that does something about he blue light I don’t even know. I just know the phone is dimmer. I don’t usually even notice it. I don’t have trouble falling asleep per se. Usually, I watch TV before I go to sleep. sometimes I am online also. I guess some people might have problems with my sleep schedule, but it doesn’t bother me.
Nothing keeps me awake. I can fall asleep standing up in an elevator packed with 4 year olds.
