If you are family or the commanding officer of an American general who Tucker Carlson called a stupid pig, how would you respond?

I would laugh, considering the source.

First, Tucker Carlson is a white nationalist, and his character plays up the role on tv. But there is absolutely no need to oppose his nonsense by criticizing him from the right. We needn’t employ the vacuous “hypocrisy” tactic to oppose his nonsense. In doing so, it requires that we abandon all principles and embrace the very things that we should be opposing.

Max Boot is a vile human being. So having him on to criticize another horrible person is not going to cut it. And pushing back on Carlson for calling an American general a pig reveals more about CNN than Carlson.

Pot calling the kettle black.

You doughy-faced spoiled rich boy, what would you know about intelligence or integrity. You have neither. You’ve never served your country one day in your life. The only thing you serve is your corporate propagandist Masters.

That’s what I would want to say, but in actuality I wouldn’t dignify him with a response.

I’d recite back Jack Nicholson’s rant from A Few Good Men. Just because I love it. Tucker’s a fool.

People still watch that ass clown? I’d rather go down to a scrapyard and watch cars rust.

I would think that the military is protecting his ability to have free speech and that he is keeping the military in business by making sure that he needs to be protected by billions of dollars in military funding from haters. Both foreign and domestic.

And don’t forget how rightists support the military. Unless they can make political hay or TV ratings by hating on them.

@Nomore_lockout It’s not okay even then, with most on the right or in the middle.

Actually fluther is the only place I’ve ever seen military, in general, described so poorly as Tucker but that was long ago. And to clarify, he’s a paleoconservative on wiki, so not mainstream.

I just heard an interview with someone about Tucker Carlson. He’s a mercenary and a gossip vampire. The views he portrays on TV aren’t really the ones he defends or argues personally. He will tell anyone any information he comes across if he thinks it will create good drama. He gets right wingers to confide in him and then he goes to his connections on the lefts and ‘spills the tea’ as the kids say these days. He’s not a defender or upholder of any sort of ideals or ethics. He’s Nellie Oleson.

I wouldn’t respond. If I felt the commanding officer (my relation) was a stupid pig, then I have nothing to complain about. If I felt he was a good man, then responding only fans the flames and gives Carlson more incentive to speak out. About the only action that makes any sense at all is to turn the channel.
