Songs that make you think of summer or take you back to a summer day that was one of the best days you ever had?
It doesn’t necessarily have to be about summer. Just something that takes you to that summer day.

The girl from Ipanema. That was a great Summer for me. I was convinced the world was my oyster. Boy was I stupid!
On the Boardwalk
Brown-Eyed Girl
Saturday In The Park – Chicago
Paradise City – Guns N’ Roses
Brand New Day – The Wiz
New Frontier – Donald Fagen
My Boy Lollipop! by Millie Small
I can recall being in Alan B.‘s backyard at night with other kids talking about girls when that song came on. We were dancing around in the dark preteding to play the harmonica while fireflies were blinking in the trees.
We also had fireworks!
Magic! Thank you for the reminder!
Hot time summer in the city.
In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry.
MacArthur Park
(Sorry for going old school on you!)
I love old school! Did you see @LuckyGuy’s answer?
Old school but so cool!
California Girls by Beach Boys, Summer of 1965 !
@chyna It was so easy to sing and dance to that song. We would flip out when it came on the radio: “77 WABC”!
I just spent about an hour looking up Millie Small, watching her interviews, and of course playing that song!
The Girl from Ipanema! That’s a blast from the past!
It was. The imagery in that song—probably you in your bloom Dutch.
Well I just looked it up. I was 6 when it was releases but still hot in the bloomin 70s when I was bloomin!
Hot Fun in the Summertime by Sly and the Family Stone.

Don’t forget Summertime by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
How about going into the Wayback Machine for “Under the Boardwalk” or “Up on the Roof” by the Drifters? Good old oldies!
Wipeout- Stevie Ray Vaughan & Dork Dinkendale
Surf City- Jan & Dean. “Two girls for every boy” is lame, but hey, it was 1963 and the video is some campy fun. Also, I think Dean resembles Ryan Reynolds.
Long Hot Summer Night- Jimi Hendrix
Well I think you folks have covered it all. I’ll be dreaming about my youth tonight. And someone may have already mentioned this one by the Bee Gees, I don’t recall the title. Had lyrics about, “I can feel the breeze, that rustled thru the trees, and misty memories of days gone by.” Wowza. I was never a big fan of their music, but that particular song does bring to mind one summer day. A very special day to me, after all these years. Have to look that one up on YouTube I suppose. Another incident when I shot myself in the foot. When they passed out brains, thought they said trains and missed my ration.
Oooops! I meant Under the Boardwalk, not On the Boardwalk!
Janis Joplin’s version of Summertime
Dancing in the Streets, Jagger & Bowie’s video version
A little Otis, maybe? How about Dock of the Bay
