We had an elderly person stay with us for a week, and they had a bit of an accident on our couch.

Or know of a product that works well?
I know they make make products for pet urine smells, but I have no idea if they work on human urine, but you could try it.
@chyna has it. Nature’s Miracle is a product for pet urine, and you could try that. I doubt that there is a big enough difference in urine, it’s all pretty ammoniac.
I would rent a steam cleaner (like from Walmart, about $35) and you’ll find the whole couch will be like new. There’s special detergent you can get (Rug Doctor) or you can order it online.
I steam cleaned a couch about three years ago and it was miraculous.
Call a professional upholstery cleaner.
I need some, too. My old female lab is getting older and has started to lose her muscle tone in that area, bless her heart.
