Can I get rid of dandruff using a vacuum cleaner?

I have recently discovered that I have dandruff and was wondering if using my vacuum cleaner will help me get rid of the dandruff

Yes.
Then get yourself a quality anti-dandruff shampoo. I always had good luck with Head and Shoulders.

Do not use a vacuum cleaner on your head, especially if you have longer hair. Use a dandruff shampoo.

It will get rid of whatever skin is already loose. It will not cure the problem, any more than using a blow dryer.
Try a new shampoo. If that fails, see a doctor.
