I’ve heard about cruise ship outbreaks, but how many cruise trips have been COVID free?

Asked by JLeslie (65719points) August 14th, 2021 from iPhone

Have you seen any statistics on how many cruises have been leaving US ports in the last few months and how many have had covid cases? I’m curious to know how well the precautions are working overall.

Thanks!

There haven’t beena lot of cruises.
Foreign ports are nervous about allowing excursions onto their ports.
Friends of mine have booked cruises, only to have them canceled.
As for me, I am looking forward to a cruise to Alaska next year. You would think I’d be hesitant, considering how my last one went.
My wife, however, is nervous. We usually book inside cabins, but we will be in a room with a balcony this time, to convince my wife to go.
What could happen?

You need to request a cabin with a sewing machine @filmfann.

Sewing machine? Why?

@kneesox, the creative and talented wife of @filmfann is a Master Quilter!

What a great story!

I was trying to make a connection between balcony rooms and maybe sheets or draperies and a sewing machine. Wondering if it stood for something not literal and I wasn’t getting the reference.

Like a lot of other things, it seems like her recourse was exceptional, but the exceptional part was what she did in the first place, bringing the sewing machine along. She was prepared. I have a feeling that one way or another, she’d have made do no matter what.
