Have you ever eaten the components of a meal separately instead of combined in a meal?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) August 17th, 2021

Like planning a taco kit and eating separately.

I made a B.L.T. yesterday and it was fine. This after noon I ate a bacon mayonnaise sandwich and the tomato separately. Both meals tasted ok.

You?

Humor welcome.

Sure. I sometimes break up a taco if it is a hard shell and add a lot of lettuce and make it into a salad.

All the time. There is nothing that I eat that couldn’t be added to a meal. But I don’t cook.

@Dutchess_III did you really just say you don’t cook? Like, ever?

Like, rarely. Baked beans for special family occasions and stuff.
I also rarely eat. And it sure doesn’t have to be a “meal”. Cheese and crackers works for me for a meal.
Maybe fix up a bowl of Campbells pork and beans soup with crackers for big meal.

I do that a lot. The wife and I usually share meal preparation duties, I fire the grill up and make steak, chicken, or pork chops, she fixes potatoes or mac and cheese. I am real bad about scarfing down my meat, before she gets the sides ready. But the smell of that meat on the grill makes me hungry. And I usually eat what she prepares later, before I bed down. So it doesn’t go to waste.

of course. I eat the components separately on different plates each in different rooms of the house.
My version of a progressive dinner.

My blt always falls apart, so I just gave up on the sandwich. I put the ingredients on the plate separately. I also eat parts of my breakfast in two sittings, 2 hours apart.

I used to, but not lately. When I was little, I did it withost everything.
Alphabits for breakfast would last nearly until lunch. First I would eat only the As. Next, only three B’s, and so on. Worse, I counted how many of each. Meanwhile, my brother would look for possible naughty words, accidentally formed by the way pouring the milk would arrange them.
Soup? The meat first. Potatoes were next, if there were any, and so on.

Oh! I guess pizza counts. I still sometimes pick off the toppings first

@Patty_Melt I thought I was the only person who made bad words from Alpha-Bits. Good for your brother!

My mom did not find it at all amusing.

Yep. About ¼ of my sushi ingredients somehow get eaten separately.
Avocado, crab sticks, nori, rice. I have to taste them – for quality control purposes.

Sort of. I don’t do raisins. Mom would make rice pudding and put raisins in it because Dad liked it that way and I would fish the raisins out, swallow them whole, then enjoy my rice pudding sans raisins.
