What in-home Covid self-test kit would you recommend?

I was told that CVS here in the US is selling a self-test kit. Have you tried a self-test kit yourself? Can you describe how it is done? Thank you.

I have not yet used the ones that I bought (two tests, €7-ish).
We also this week got a letter in the post, with a code to order two (free) self-tests, from the government.
I opened one test to see how its done.
It uses a q-tip which you stick in your nose (not like the ones where they went 6 inches in) and you twirl it around on the inside of your nostril.
Then you put the tip in a little plastic thingy which contains a fluid (you have done something with this thingy beforehand, to prepare).
Then you get a result (much like a pregnancy test result; with blue lines at a certain position, indicating positive or negative outcome).
^^Thank you. I was just on my way to get one.
@tebbel Thank you for that scientific explanation! :-)
Abbott
We just did this test on Tuesday. As @rebbel described. Be sure to keep your card flat on the table. And don’t forget to twirl the q-tip thingy three times in the card.
We just ran out and took one of these tests on Tuesday. (After hearing that we were exposed on Monday.)
Then our nurse neighbor mentioned (and @Caravanfan confirmed), that it takes 3–5 days for it to register on a test.
So before you blow $25 bucks in a panic, consider your testing cadence.
Good luck!
Abbot Binax test is the home test. It is not that sensitive, so if you don’t have symptoms and have covid it has a possibility of a false negative test.
