Have there been any celebrity deaths recently, that you weren't aware of?

I just found out today, that Jerry Jeff Walker, one of my favorite old “Outlaw Country” stars, had passed away, back in Oct. of last year. Has anything like that come to your attention?

The death of Sonny Chiba, who played Hatari Hanzo in Kill Bill didn’t get much media attention. He was great in the Streetfighter films.

@filmfann Evidently Walkers passing didn’t garner much attention either. At least I didn’t notice If it did. We were on the porch this afternoon talking to our neighbor lady, she was a Jerry Jeff fan as well. I mentioned that he hasn’t put anything out in a while and she told me he had died last year. Bummer.

I still can’t believe that I wasn’t aware of Jerry Jeff passing. I was always a fan of his music, which I call “Countrified hippie” type. Don’t know how I missed that, living here in the Austin vicinity.

I heard through the grapevine that Keith attributes his longevity to the quality of drugs he (and the Stones) used to take.

Found this quote:

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards talks to the Sun about the quality of today’s drugs:

HELLRAISER Keith Richards says he has finally given up drugs—because they don’t give him Satisfaction any more. The Rolling Stones guitarist complained dealers and chemists have reduced the power of his favourite narcotics. And he doesn’t like modern drugs like ecstasy because they “mess with the brain”. Former heroin addict Keith, 62, moaned: “I really think the quality’s gone down.

“All they do is try and take the high out of everything.

“I don’t like the way they’re working on the brain area instead of just through the blood system. That’s why I don’t take any of them any more. And you’re talking to a person who knows his drugs.”
