What is something that you have burnt yourself on enough times to stop touching the fire?
What have you learned the hard way? Or am still burning oneself over and over again?
For example I keep trying to fix my past and also to work my way back into university with out much clue about my career goals, or what I want to do with my life.

The door of the stove, honestly.
It’s been three times/winters now.
Here’s to hoping this coming winter will be without burns.
@rebbel I was thinking the oven door as well.
Other than that, feeling romantic about guys who only want me for a friend. I have stopped looking for a relationship because I don’t think it’s good for me.
Carrying hot bowls of soup without a plate underneath.
Using a knitted oven cloth instead of oven mitts.
Not having my house keys permanently attached to my trousers with a lanyard.
That some people just won’t change and at some point it’s better to just accept that things won’t get better. No matter how much I care, I shouldn’t exhaust myself helping someone who doesn’t even see the problem.
What @anniereborn said. Some Life Lessons just suck

Men who are out for sex only.
I got burned twice and now very selective on who gets into my inner circle of friends.
I assumed ( my mistake) that once people grow older that they become more mature…not!
A 60 year old here acts like a “player” and has serval women on a string..no thanks buddy move on, I am not interested in that game.
He is oblivious to the chatter amoung the women about his behaviour and oddly thinks NO one knows..lol.
Never was and always determine friendship ( true) that are sincere and authentic first before initiating anything closer.
Got burned becasue I was naive and overly trusting…I learnt the hard way.
Just to be sure and clear his name, Darth_Algar was a wonderful husband.
But living through a spouse dying is a living hell.
Gluten.
But sometimes the fire is just too delicious. And you forget what it feels like to get burned after awhile.
Now, more directly addressing OPs concern, one issue for me is pulling my door shut as I leave, and later realizing I had left my keys on the table, so now, I look at my keys in my purse to make sure I see exactly where they are.
In a sense, you need to do the same. Make sure you have what you need before you start out.
However, in this case, I would back up even one step further. Do I even want to leave the house? Maybe it is raining, and I want to wait. Maybe I have no money, so going to the grocery store would be pointless, even if I am very hungry.
You mention university a lot, but that is as far as you ever get. I have to wonder if it is something you really want, or if it is something others make you feel you want.
You have been given many tips and suggestions about assessing your talents and interests. At this point, you might as well decide to become a stripper. It doesn’t really matter, because you won’t give it a try anyway. It would at least be something you could practice alone at home.
I do have one idea you might find interesting. Here is a link.
This guy tells at the end he does classes online for making devices.
Check out the video and see if you care about learning some skills from this guy.
