What is a TV series you want to watch again?

Asked by Caravanfan (13771points) August 29th, 2021

Normally I don’t watch TV series multiple times, but there is a few. I’ve seen Queens Gambit, The Wire, Ted Lasso, Watchmen, and of course Star Trek multiple times.

Just thinking I might want to see Breaking Bad again.

The West Wing

I don’t care much for dramas. I wouldn’t mind catching reruns of some 90s westerns like Paradise and Young Riders. Also enjoyed Tour of Duty. A show from the early 90s about Viet Nam.

Designing Women

Star Trek Voyager I just completed a few weeks ago. I didn’t remember a few of the episodes.

Star Trek Next Generation I have seen multiple times and still watch it.

Golden Girls.

Big Bang Theory.

If you have not watched Counterpart I highly recommend it. I watched the episode where they reveal a lot of significant details three times wanting to catch all of the intricacies.

I would watch the Kominsky Method again. Especially the first two seasons.

@janbb West Wing was awesome! I’ve wanted to watch that again with my husband for years; he never watched it. He hasn’t been willing, I’m not sure why.

Caravanfan's avatar

I’ve actually never seen West Wing.

Caravanfan's avatar

Never seen Counterpart either.

I think the sci-fi in you will really like Counterpart.

Did you watch Fringe? It’s similar.

The Avengers (starring Patrick Macnee, Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg)

Monty Python’s Flying Circus

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

The Bob Newhart Show (not the later Newhart, though it was funny too)

Fawlty Towers

Star Trek (original)

The Streets of San Francisco

Hill Street Blues

Space: 1999

Doctor Who (3rd and 4th Doctor)

Alfred Hitchcock Presents

The Twilight Zone

The Prisoner

Others I have watched multiple times, but am not planning to do it again soon include:

The IT Crowd

The Office

Black Books

Mission Impossible

Perry Mason

@Nomore_lockout Was it about the Vietnam war or just Vietnam as a country?

Night court.
The Big Bang theory.

Mimishu1995's avatar

@Nomore_Lockout we could watch it together. I would like to see another perspective of the war :)

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Wish we could Mimi but it’s not being shown anymore. And as I recall a lot of the American guys were sympathetic to the Viet Nam people as well. They got sucked up by our own governmemt in a situation they wanted no part of. Cool show. But but but I can’t get over there. I won’t fly after 911. If I can’t ride a boat or a train I can’t go anywhere. : )

I like (and rewatch already) the various Treks, and Gates, Farscape, Doctor Who. I love finding the shows about the “different” stuff, Eureka, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, even Relic Hunter in all it’s silliness. A few sitcoms, stuff like that.

I really like how the sci fi TV community really looks after its own, a lot of the actors are in a lot of the shows.

Breaking Bad. That show really sucked me in. You could watch it on so many levels.
Of course the story is fantastic but there are other things going on in the background.
Color means something more than color. Look at their names. Look at the clothes and backgrounds in scenes. Mirrors and camera angles are important. Black and white flashbacks, episode titles, etc. There are too many to list.
One of these days I might watch it again.

The only time I stopped watching Seinfeld, was for about 2 years after Michael Richards’ racist response to some hecklers at the Laugh Factory in 2006.

The Inhumanoids.

The Outer Limits

I’ve been reviewing The Fugitive for several years, but it’s only on at 2AM on Monday morning, so it’s not as accessible as Seinfeld or Newhart.

I can watch most shows (or movies) multiple times. I could definitely watch these again:

- Monty Python’s Flying Circus
– Arrested Development (first 3 seasons)
– Fargo (the tv show)
– Six Feet Under

And while I think I could watch Breaking Bad again, I’m more likely to watch Better Call Saul a second time.

Manifest and True Blood are the only modern series I’ve watched multiple times and still hold up.

@LuckyGuy BB is what got me thinking about this again.

“The Wire.” I’ve already watched the series twice, and it’s good enough for a 3rd viewing.

The Prisoner.

Over the weekend, I got caught in a Law & Order marathon. Great show!

I’ve seen Lost, Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, Homeland, The Leftovers, and Neon Genesis Evangelion twice. I’ve been thinking about watching Lost a third time, especially since it’s been years since I re-watched it.

I’m also thinking of re-watching Adventure Time and Rick and Morty.

I’ll watch shows again if enough time has passed and they were of a high enough quality.

Zaku's avatar

I forgot Arrested Development and Parks and Recreation, The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and no doubt, quite a few others.

And that I’m currently quite enjoying re-watching 30 Rock.

Was The Thorn Birds a series? All the ones listed above, except Nova I never watched.

Star Trek lower decks.

Caravanfan's avatar

@RedDeerGuy1 I don’t have Paramount+ so haven’t seen it. I hear it’s good.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Caravanfan I saw the first season. Was funny.

Demosthenes's avatar

@Zaku 30 Rock was a lot of fun to re-watch. Arrested Development as well. Both shows seem consistently funny even a decade or two later.
