Will the Kraken-lawyers being sanctioned for their frivolous lawsuit, have any measurable impact on the MAGA conspiracy theorists?

Asked by ragingloli (52277points) August 31st, 2021

Do you think they even know the Kraken was deep fried?

From the ruling

“This lawsuit represents a historic and profound abuse of the judicial process. It is one thing to take on the charge of vindicating rights associated with an allegedly fraudulent election. It is another to take on the charge of deceiving a federal court and the American people into believing that rights were infringed, without regard to whether any laws or rights were in fact violated. This is what happened here.

Individuals may have a right (within certain bounds) to disseminate allegations of fraud unsupported by law or fact in the public sphere. But attorneys cannot exploit their privilege and access to the judicial process to do the same. And when an attorney has done so, sanctions are in order.”

Oh that is so great!
But never underestimate insane people’s ability to dream ridiculous stuff up to counter with.

Not if all they do is listen to other MAGA conspiracy theorists, Fox News, etc., since those people never tell them about those things. If they do mention the lawyers, they’ll say that the system was rigged etc.

No.

Just no.

After 5+ years of this BS we should all accept that people who cling to irrational beliefs aren’t persuaded by facts, rational argument, or findings of law. “Politics” is just a handy vehicle for trying to legitimize their own deeply dysfunctional emotional handicaps as something in the public interest.

Nothing will change.

@JLoon I disagree with your last sentence. I believe it will be increasingly difficult to find lawyers willing to risk their licenses to file frivolous lawsuits with this ruling.

@Hawaii_Jake – Let’s hope that ethical and honorable attorneys will take that approach.

But I think loli was asking if MAGA conspiracy theorists were going to reform.

Still gotta say – Nope.

Honestly, no. But your average MAGA-ite wouldn’t trust lawyers, if they thought about. Lawyers are educated people, and MAGA-ites don’t have respect for higher learning.

Remember- the recent history of the US right wing is to eat its own in its lunatic race to be more extreme than the next guy.
