Why don't dogs have dew claws on their back feet?

Are their back feet more evolved than their front feet?

Because they don’t. I doubt it was a determining survival trait.

Because dogs don’t eat with the use of their hind feet. Watch a dog chew on something and how they employ their dew claws to hold the object being chewed.

My chihuahua had them. I know some breeders remove them.
