I need to ask a question about jailbreaking my ipod touch...
Ok I found this link that says it will jailbrreak ipod touch 2.1. It also says it only works with windows. I’m on a mac with bootcamp and I can still access windows on my mac. BUT iTunes 8 is NOT on the windows software and instead is on the mac software. So if I jailbreak it with windows, will I be able to locate it on itunes 8 on my mac?

I’d wait until the iPhone Dev team get their Pwnage Tool (for mac) working with the 2.1 Firmware (they’re currently trying to countermeasure a bug fix by Apple to do so ) – I would imagine it’s best to keep the jailbreaking confined to the OS you’ll be using it on.
@Scamp, I believe as the 2.1 Firmware was released yesterday, and the other threads are at least a week old, it’s a fair enough question, and unique from the other questions. Maybe read it a bit more in-depth before shooting him down.
Who said I was shooting him down? I offered him help. You shouldn’t jump to such conclusions. What is that old saying about those who assume???
how is doing the old “search before you ask” line ‘helping him’?! As I pointed out, none of those threads are relevant to the new firmware, so stop being a smartass.

Thanks! I checked their website and there’s a new pwnage tool (2.1) that’s been released today! :-D I’m currently using it… I’ll tell you how it went when I’m done…
Well I’ve just done mine on windows (using a difference method obviously) and everything is perfect. A mate of mine had also done his on a mac using the tools you’ll be using, and all’s well with his too. Kinda seems like it’s getting easier with each firmware release.
