Quora refugees. Quora has driven me away. How best can I duplicate the Quora experience for serious topics? I can do without questions about how tall teenagers will be.

Welcome to Fluther. We’re a small group. I think you could start by asking questions. We have a very different interface here. It’s old, and it won’t be updated. We’re a good bunch with some quirks.
Dive in! Enjoy the water.
If they drove you away why do you want to duplicate the experience?
On the other hand, if this is about your S&M needs or other kinky stuff I totally understand.
We can hurt you…
Happy you are here.
Welcome !
Fluther is pretty much like Quora. The only difference is that we can discuss things in depth while Quora only allows straightforward answers without further discussion. Occasionally there will be kids asking mundane questions, but then again can you find any website that successfully bans kids from joining? Just ignore them and you are fine.
Read my profile. You’ll get the idea…
I was at Quora for awhile but I got sick of it too. Rocketguy still goes there and soldiers on.
Fluther is less of a simple Q&A site and more of a bickering extended family.
I prefer Fluther to Quora by quite a bit. Quora has several terrible anti-features, such as not letting you properly see the original question and the answers at the same time. I definitely feel like I’m being product-ized even when I just try to browse for information there.
If you want to try to get a serious question answered here, post a question in the General section and provide details about what you already know, and the information you’re looking for. We don’t have millions of users here, but the users we do have are pretty smart.
I love this site. More room for opinions and I trust the people here.
Quora had the worst questions. “My son got an A- in AP literature so I smashed his X-box, did I go too far????? He won’t talk to me”
I swear to God that was in an Email Quora sent to me. Like what the hell.
Fluther definitely has deeper dives into topics, encouraging discussion and sharing points of view. There is some mocking, and a lot of humor, but Fluther is rich with experience.
If you want to duplicate the Quora experience, ask a question about your dreams, then put your head in a doorway, and slam the door several times.
Read only the “general” section.
