Is just living life day to day in the present good enough?
Or do you need to have a plan? Or like more of whatever? Money, power, friends, likes, ect…?

Depends on the person, for some sure,others want a lot more out of life.
I based my question on this Star Wars quote from Yoda:
Yoda Star Wars Quotes “Vader he looked away into the past and the future never where he was what he was doing.”
Also I listened to some Buddhist quotes on YouTube, about living in the present; last night that I can’t find now.
Only the present moment exists. Time creates the present and annihilates the past.
Awareness of our finitude leads to a desperate search for meaning and for goal-seeking. This is fundamentally futile, but a strong enough delusion in the purposefulness of our actions and beliefs may stave off anxiety about our future demise.
In the end it doesn’t matter. It’s just whatever aesthetic preference you have. Some people are wracked with stress and fear unless they constantly seek to increase their status and material wealth. Others can get by living day to day.
Whether you have a plan or not one can only live from day to day anyhow
Don’t confuse being present in the moment with doing what is necessary for living. There is a difference between “planning ahead” and “living in the future” rather than the present. One must still chop wood/carry water.
You always seem to refer to ”...more of… Money, power,” yet those are ephemeral and have no real meaning.
@zenvelo Thanks for not using what you know of me to attack. I am grateful that you can add to the conversation, seeing the lack of insight that I have about myself. I used to get frustrated at those answers, but I am grateful to be remembered; Also I am grateful to not be so quickly

@RedDeerGuy1 “What does have meaning?” For me, it’s friendship, learning, being engaged in things, and doing things with and for others.
“Good enough” for what? It’s really all we have. Plans are really just hopes and dreams. We are not as much in control as we think.

If you are content with your current life, then just keep doing what you are doing. If you want more, then you need to come up with a plan that you can incorporate into your day to day activities.
@LostInParadise I don’t know what I want. I was just reverting to default wants from what my culture tells me to want. Like Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
The culture does not tell you what you should want. It is up to you to decide. When you say that you do not know what you want, does that mean you are feeling dissatisfied? The top two levels of Maslow’s hierarchy are self-esteem and self-actualization. Do you feel self-esteem? Do you feel that you have achieved your full potential? Or do you not care particularly, and are content to satisfy the lower levels of the hierarchy, as is the case for a lot of people? It is all up to you.
@LostInParadise I don’t know how to answer your questions? I don’t know what self esteem or self actualization are? I only understand more, and to a smaller extent enough.
Fluthering is my focus, in life. As well as my mom, and food and money. I like instrumental music, and good food.
Good enough for me, yeah. But I’d have no objection to suddenly having a billion dollars. If that were to happen, I could deal with it.
Make the best or optimin of each day, as yesterdays problems or furture problems can be met as they arise, don’t waist time worrying about it.
Worrying does nothing for ones soul.

@RedDeerGuy1, I assumed that since you mentioned Maslow’s need hierarchy, that you understood the various levels. Here is a detailed description. It may provide some insight into what your needs are.
You optimize yourself, you eat healthy, you discover a new outlook on life and an airplane falls out of the sky and lands on your house. We are not in charge.
