What was the cheapest price that you have seen Ramen? Or any other cheap food?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24947points) October 31st, 2021

21 years ago I found Co-op Ramen for $0.10 Canadian each. That’s the cheapest price for Ramen that I found.

I also found non name brand Mac and cheese for $0.35 in the grocery store in the 90’s.

About 2 years ago I saw ramen packs for $0.12 cents. I haven’t looked recently but I’ll check next time I think of it. .

Ramen was 5 for $1 at one point.

In college I used to make Mexican food to last me most of the week because it was all so cheap.

10 cents used to be what a pack costs. You could buy in bulk at like Sam’s and get them for closer to 5 cents. This was more than 20 years ago though.

Yeah I think 10 cents is the lowest I remember it, but that’s not adjusted for inflation since however many years ago I saw that.

I used to get them for 10 cents each. Now twice that is a bargain price.

Once upon a time, I used to pay 25 cents for a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. And if you go back far enough (way back), I can remember a loaf of bread and a quart of milk for 26 cents each. And later, a pack of cigarettes for the same price. At those points on the timeline, I’d never heard of ramen.

I can find ramen for about $0.10 a pack in bulk. Would I buy it, NOPE!
Now MISO I will buy. Not as inexpensive, but much better for you.
