I suppose bruising, cuts, or fractures that are not serious if they can be corrected or if the body can mend itself is not a serious injury. Loss of the use of a limb, or organ, or severe skin damage that will never fully heal to its former self would be considered severe. If it changes permanently how you look or function, or can cause death eventually, then I would consider it’s severe.
I would rate any injury that requires hospitalization as “serious”. Anything where you are sent home after being seen at an ER or urgent care would not be serious.
I broke a collarbone when I was 12, went to the ER, send home after doctor saw me and went to school the next day- non serious.
I fell off a cliff onto the beach when I was 22; compound fracture of my right leg, fracture of left arm, required surgery to place screws in my leg. Five nights in hospital- serious.
How odd…this question showed up as a “Questions for You” in the box in the upper right. I’ve never seen that before.
As far as seriousness goes, I agree with the previous 2 answers, and if it requires physical therapy in addition.
@smudges…some one deliberately sent the question to you. Look in the details. There is an option to “Send to a friend.”
It showed up as a “Question for you” for me, too. That just means that you are following/want ntification for one of the topics. (news, injuries, or cars)
I don’t think that feature works anymore @Zenvelo. Only time I get “questions for you ” is if someone sends it to me.
Being hospitalized is usually serious.
I’d say needing a long recovery or permanent damage is serious too. Not damage like a scar, but damage where it gives you ongoing pain or something that needs ongoing medical attention.
A minor cut or bruise would be minor. A compound fracture would be serious. Or a broken neck.
It’s subjective.
I would say anything that requires a doctor.

Good point, and my guess is that you’re right.
To test your observation, I sent this question to you.
Edit: I just sent this question to my other account, and you’re correct.
However, there’s a footnote to the question that notes that it was sent by jelly, and identifies the sender.
I think if Fluther sends the question, then there’s no identifying footnote.
