”...say you’re sorry”?
”...give that back”?
”...wash your hands”?
What did she catch you at, and what did you have to do?

Put that book down and get ready for bed, young lady.
I would hide under the covers with a flashlight and my mom would pretend not to notice.
…buy me two packs or cigarettes.
…put that coat on the coat hanger.
...apologise.
...dry the dishes.
...give me fiddy.
My Mother never caught me doing anything because she was either gone or sleeping.
My mother didn’t talk to me that way “now you just march right over there and” so that would be an imposter.
@jca2 Agree. Not anything my Mom would have said to me.
She would just go straight to threatening you with the orphanage.
…apologize to your brother!
…pick that up!
…and sit down and think about what you did!
Oh…and she almost always added “young lady!” to it.
