Usually when I absolutely insist on something, it is because my ego and self centeredness is getting in the way of own best self interest. Very few things in this world are worth insisting upon.

Nah. I’m easy. Do what you want to do, fug it. On edit, maybe I have always been too easy. I used to have some girlfriends back in the day, who had toddlers. They would insist on getting on to the babies if they had a poop accident, and they were supposed to be potty trained. My “easy” attitude got me yelled at a lot. Wish I had a dollar for all the times I heard something like. “That’s why I don’t leave them with you, you won’t make them mind! I take them home and they climb the curtains!” Yawn, whatever. Take a damn chill pill woman, LOL

Time set aside on completing my longterm goals.
Some people need time set aside for socializing.
Some for exercising or the gym.
Interests should’t be dropped just because of relationships or marriage.

We once pulled into a convience store parking lot and this older lady’s car was just billowing black smoke. Rick Dicky to the rescue! He called a friend of his who had a shop in town. He was getting ready to close but said to bring it on over.
Rick started explaining to the lady how to get there.
I put the Mom steel in my voice and said, to Rick, ”You will drive the car to the shop. She’s riding with me.”
She was from out of state and alone.
His friend actually fixed it that night.
We called to make sure she got back on the road safely that night.
