Does your region have toll free nurse advice?

In my province of Alberta you can call a nurse toll free ‘24/7’ (811), for advice. It helps to keep filling up emergency services and hospitals and doctors waiting rooms.

Also would it save resources to open doctors offices for non-emergencies open 24/7? Has it been tried?
