I have read about this, and I am supportive of assisted suicide, and of a method that allows a peaceful end to extreme suffering.
@canidmajor I’m also in support of assisted suicide. Though I’m not sure how I feel about automated consent. How well could AI assess whether they are sound of mind?
How about the USA buys a couple dozen Sarco’s?
Instead of electric chairs, lethal injection, gas Chambers, firing squads, and gallows.
Seems like a pretty nice (compared to) way to go out.
I’m also for (assisted) self chosen departure (in the Netherlands it’s legal, in certain circumstances; and there’s talk about a pill of Drion, named after a doctor who was also pro, and who designed said pill), but the Sarco sounds a bit too much to me.
Too idyllic, strangely enough.
Too big, too unwieldy, too expensive (these are assumptions, I add).
Too idyllic.
That is interesting. Tell me more—not right now. Think about that some more. And tell me more later.
The Religious Right in America will never let it come to the US and be approved.
Pro-life and all that shit; they are not in favor of personal autonomy.
I think this is a reasonable alternative, but we’ll never see it here in the States.
I mean, I’d try it out. See what it’s like.
Seems like a comfy way to go.
“Instead of electric chairs, lethal injection, gas Chambers, firing squads, and gallows.”
It has been said before, and it needs repetition:
The cruelty is the point
@elbanditoroso I’m not as sure of that as you are.
Many terminal cancer patients worry about that at some point and it’s just fight or die now. Really horrible for our seniors and disabled.
@Sergeant No ma’am, don’t even joke!! Hugs
