Sleep does not cure hunger,. Sleep does not cure air pollution. Sleep does not cure poverty.

Can you make your question a little more precise?

@elbanditoroso ok. What mental conditions does sleep or time cure? Or not cure? For example, does depression get better with a couple of good sleeps and a couple of good meals? Also with time?

Sleep doesn’t cure ham or bacon or baldness.

It would depend on the type of depression. If it’s due to an event, that’s called situational depression and sleep can help, but not necessarily get rid of it entirely. Often it simply takes time.

If it’s depression of the mental illness type, unfortunately, no, sleep won’t cure it. If you’re in the middle of a bad bout of it, sleep won’t even help much, but it’s good for us and we need sleep.

The longest recorded time without sleep is approximately 264 hours, or just over 11 consecutive days. Although it’s unclear exactly how long humans can survive without sleep, it isn’t long before the effects of sleep deprivation start to show. After only three or four nights without sleep, you can start to hallucinate. https://www.healthline.com/health/healthy-sleep/how-long-can-you-go-without-sleep

I have never found it curing depression.

A good, long sleep can help with stress.

Insomnia
Sleep allows the physical and mental body to relax and recover from day to day anxieties etc
Humans need 8 to 12 hours sleep every night in order to function in top notch shape.
It is the only time where one can let go of problems and offer respite from suffering.

Odd question, like asking what is cured by eating. Sleep is a necessity. It makes more sense to ask what irregularities are caused by sleep deprivation.

People who go to sleep as idiots are still idiots when they wake.

Sleeping generally helps with sleepiness and fatigue.

Sleep does not cure
traffic jams
Achilles’s heel
Amnesia

It doesn’t cure hunger, but sometimes postpones it a bit
