I love Christmas music. My favorite Christmas song of all time is Amy Grant’s rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

Ditto on “Gramma Got Run Over…” Hate that dumb song with a passion. Favorite is “Do You Hear What I Hear”.

I love Christmas music but tend to like the melancholy ones, or Christmas-adjacent songs.

favorites
River by Joni Mitchel

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Please Come Home for Christmas

Another Lonely Christmas by Prince

least favorite
Dominick the Donkey

My wife also lives Little Drummer Boy. The Ray Charles version is pretty great.

The worst is “Merry Christmas Everybody” by Slade. It is far too harsh and loud. I prefer something gentler such as “Silent Night” or “White Christmas”.

Least favorite = any version of “Go Tell It On The Mountain”. It’s so repetitive. I just want to scream out, “Will someone please go tell it on the freaking mountain!?!”

Favorite = “I Yust Go Nuts At Christmas”

As good as John Lennon and Paul McCartney could be, there is a special elevator in hell that plays a constant loop of Merry Xmas (war is over) and Wonderful Christmastime.

Nat King Cole’s Christmas album is pretty good if I had to pick something I enjoy hearing every year.

My current favorite is this version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen for editors

I’ve been mostly successful at avoiding Christmas Muzak this year, so I’m not sure what my least favorite is. It’s probably out there lurking in the shadows amongst other things I’ve deliberately buried and forgotten.

Oh Holy Night is probably my favorite, though Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is wonderful, if not only for the sanguine reflection of
“Through the years
We’ll always be together
If the Fates allow”

The worst is Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. Just awful!

I’m gonna cheat and post more than one.
I despise “Felix Navidad”. No, not cuz it’s Spanish. It’s so repetitive I want to scream!
Another vote for “Grandma got ran over by a reindeer” hate!
And the Paul McArtney duo of hell mentioned above.

As for favorites….
My tops are “Grown Up Christmas List” and “When my Heart Finds Christmas”
(by Harry Connick Jr.)
And for fun I do love the TSO version of “Carol of the Bells”

Lately I like softer music or voice .
Been on this earth for too long to once again hear outdated Christmas Carols, I’d rather favor the newestones created.

Here are two that I like so far.

@anniereborn
Glad that you liked it.
But I liked this soft version the best( the one that I posted).

I recognized that music music from years ago where I had a cassette tape of it.

Its Pachelbel – Canon in D Major

@Inspired_2write, @anniereborn I’ve always loved Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major and have a tape and a CD of it. But I had forgotten there was a version with words.

Although it’s not really a Christmas song, I love “A Little Good News” by Anne Murray. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOR6Vx-Ogbk

There are too many good ones to have a favorite, but I love “In The Bleak Midwinter”, “Do You Hear What I Hear?”, and “Little Drummer Boy.”

I’m sure there are some I don’t like, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

My favorite is New Kid in Town by George Strait. I don’t think they play it on the radio.
Second is Cheech and Chong’s song, what ever it is.

I don’t know what my least favorite is.
