Which kind of roast would you prefer for Christmas dinner?
A pork butt roast or a beef roast?

Either would be fine. I love beef but I don’t eat pork too often, so it would be ok, too.
Pork roast from a private supplier.
Pork butt is for pulled pork or carnitas. To cook it right you need to do it low and slow; like 235* F for hours and hours until it hits 203* F.
A pork roast would be pork tenderloin or pork loin (boneless pork chops); cook it hot and fast until it hits 145* F.
@Tropical_Willie We had a good pulled pork “roast” from a Boston butt. Can be done in a slow cooker. Mom made it this year and I had to do a double take. I was thinking “now that ain’t right.”
But it was very good, much better than a tenderloin.
My DIL cooked a pork butt for Christmas dinner. First thing that came to mind when I saw it was pulled pork. I started to look for some bar b que sauce but then thought that might not go over so well.
I’d love a roast, on (inter-)national television, of known sex offenders, by the world’s best comedians.
Prefer beef myself, but pork is fine as well. I like your thought about BBQ sauce. Sounds delish. But we use that on damn near everything down here.
BBQ sauce is for cheap cuts of meat. It’s to hide the nasty taste.
My DIL would have been mortified to realize she’d cooked pulled pork for dinner so I didn’t grab the BBQ sauce.
Doesn’t do recipes, I guess !
Dutchess barbecue sauce can be used to hide cheap cuts but that doesn’t mean that people can’t use it elsewhere.
@Dutchess_III and @jca2 You ladies ain’t from around these parts, are ya? BBQ sauce goes good on everything. We may pack heat to the outhouse, and think everything is some nutziod conspiracy, but we know our meat and BBQ.
It doesn’t go with Cheerios!
@NomoreLockout: my grandfather was from Louisiana and he put hot sauce on everything.
What about leg of lamb snip?
I prefer poultry. Definitely not pork.
