Who's ready?

Asked by Patty_Melt (17519points) December 30th, 2021

We begin a New Year in just a few hours.
There will be big changes in twenty two, and I don’t think any part of the world will be exempt from at least some of those changes. It is unavoidable. The world just cannot go much longer as it is.

What changes do you expect to be publicly witnessed and experienced?

What results can we expect to take place from those changes?

Are you mostly optimistic, or mostly concerned?

I’m going to stipulate here that I am asking for opinions. Opinion questions are never wrong, because you are the only one who can decide what your opinion is. For that reason, I want everyone to speak freely, but to not call out any other jelly for whatever their opinion might be. If someone predicts all land masses will converge, and reform Pangaea, let them dream it. Let’s please resist the urge to remove the civil from civil discord.

I’ll start things off. I don’t think the land masses will converge. In fact, Africa is going to lose a chunk, but not the coming year.
I think a project will get under way that will in time make agriculture get a worldwide boost before the end of the decade.
I think I will run for Congress. I might win, and if I do, I will not be slave to any party. If I don’t win, it will be okay, because seeing me will inspire other non politicians to give it shot.

I feel optimistic about twenty two.

I think the pandemic is going to continue to impact the world in a major way throughout the year and into 2023.

I think the Democratic party is going to start pressuring our current President to not run for office next election, so they can start looking seriously at other prospects.

Well, it’s not until the day after tomorrow. I still have time to think about it.

I think 22 will be nice compared to this year. I hope so. Schools not gonna get easier though.

Same ol’, same ol’, Who said: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times?” All a matter of personal perspective. Onward thru the fog.

I am but a paper boat on a winding river. I go wherever the waters take me.

It will be worse in most any way you can imagine.

I am an optimist; I’m also an informed realist.

I expect more weather records will be broken due to global warming.

I think the current wave of Covid will quite quickly subside and we will be almost back to normal by the end of the year.

Putin will invade Ukraine early in the new year.

@flutherother Makes sense. Putin will invade the Ukraine, Covid will go away just in time for the nuclear holocaust. Just the news I wanted to wake up to with my acid reflux attack and feeling like dog crap. : )

I’m leaving my money in the stock market so I’m betting the world economy will continue to climb.
Changes will incremental and for the better.
