A diminishment of fear.
I have feared for the health of my loved ones, myself, and, really, for all of us on this planet.
I have feared that the acquisition of power and wealth among some will hurt and oppress and kill so many.
I have feared that the continued squandering and mismanagement of resources will render our biosphere unlivable.

I hope for hope.

A garage for my husband, or house with a garage, and pushing aside the apprehension I have about spending the money to buy it.

Coming up with a new goal for earning money.

I hope covid goes down to a much duller roar and my parents and sister can come visit.

Like a pageant in a Miss Universe contest would say: “My hope is that world peace will get established!”

For myself I hope that in a few months time I will look back and see that I have decluttered, getten rid of unneeded possessions, started a daily yoga/meditation routine, eaten healthier (veg, veg, veg).

To get the living room done enough to get one of those things people can sit on into it. What’s that thing called?

My hopes for the New Year are for my family and for me to stay Covid free and for me to get my house in shape with the living room fixed up and to get the house organized better.

I’d love to take a nice vacation to Europe, me and my daughter, but right now wth the Covid surging everywhere, that’s on hold.

I will organize my apartment and unpack. Yes, I know I moved here in November of 2020.
I will start a stretching and exercise program that will improve my back so I can stand for longer than 15 minutes.
I hope to get at least one kitty from the humane society, who will either be elderly or have been there a long time.
I hope to begin volunteering somewhere.

Gosh, those sound just a wee bit like resolutions, which I said I don’t make. >8^}

To go camping as much as possible and mark off some more Wisconsin State parks off my list. My husband and I decided last year to visit all of the state parks here. We visited seven last year and have about thirty to go.

I had a resolution to sleep all day today.
I failed.
That’s why I don’t do them things.

I’d like to get significantly effective stem cell therapy for my arthritic right knee, with a personal cost of <$100.

I won’t bother to hope for an end to the pandemic anymore; I hoped for that last year and in the summer it looked like my hope was being fulfilled and then everything went to shit again. So I will direct my hope elsewhere: I hope that my career will advance significantly this year as I plan to finish grad school in the summer. I hope that I can get more serious about a relationship. Some of that pressure comes from others (people I know are settling down now, I’m 30, the pressure is on) but it’s mostly about what I want. :) And I hope to travel more. Only did one big trip last year, I hope I get some additional opportunities this year.

Personally…
To stay healthy.
Less fear and anxiety.
Save money.
More time with my wife.

Generally…
Less division amongst people. I am so sick of the negativity and antagonism.

Rick once said he wanted to move to the Pacific Northwest.
I laughed and said there was no way he’d leave Zoey and the kids that far away!
He said “Oh, Chris and Jenna can come visit them every other weekend!”

I’m jealous! I’ve been in Milwaukee for two years and have been to zero state parks. At the start of your venture I remember you asking here for tips for camping in bear country! Have you seen a bear or any other interesting fauna?

Jons_Blond's avatar

^Unfortunately I had to cancel my bear territory trip due to a bad dog bite. You should check out Kohler-Andrae State Park. It’s right on Lake Michigan just south of Sheboygan. I swam in the lake there in October! Governor Dodge was stunning. It’s about an hour west of Madison in the Driftless Region. There are many state parks in southern and central Wisconsin. You definitely need to visit some!

My personal hopes are to stay in physical shape and get in better financial/career shape. I want my elderly mother to stay in good spirits. She’s physically weak but mentally upbeat and engaged.

Hope that SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic will quickly end and the world travel goes back to normal (prior to 2019).
