R.I.P. Meat Loaf. Age 74. What a voice!

I’m sorry for the loss. I best remember him from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I will miss him, saw him in Connecticut.
I am sorry for anyone who dies in their 70s. It may seem old but it really isn’t. And he did make some great songs.
Well this sucks. It was apparently COVID and the buzz around the web forums is he was likely unvaccinated.
Today we discussed his departure in yoga class, and the teacher told me “Oh, you look like him”...........Mind you, I have gained a pound of 40 over the last two years
Yeah, 74 ain’t old.
Hated that bombastic Celine Dion-ish I Would Do Anything For You, but loved, loved, loved that bombastic Paradise By The Dashboard Light!
I have great memories of a couple at a party night at my soccer club, when I was a boy, that did this playback act, of Meatloaf and Ellen Foley.
Not sure if Ellen Foley was the singer or the actress in the video?
His name is Robert Paulson…
Oh no! I hadn’t heard. I liked a lot of his music.
No, sorry, never heard of him.
@Jeruba Read details. it’s the singer Meat Loaf.
I was told that his stage name came from his high school coach at who said that he looked like a meatloaf.
I had good times often while Paradise By The Dashboard Lights played.
@janbb, I always do read the details. But I thought the question was explicitly whether we knew the name in the subject line—essentially asking if we knew the guy’s given name.
Anyway, I’ve never heard him sing, as far as I know.
Not my favorite singer, but sad for his family
I was surprised when I heard the name Marvin Lee Aday on the radio. I had no Idea that was Mr. Loaf’s birth name.
Never listened to him, but looking at photos of his, I can see why he called himself “meatloaf”.
