Yes
My husband used to be quite jealous of that.

What kind of ice cream bar has a stick that you can suck chocolate out of? I can’t even picture it.

Obviously, @Jeruba, you never have. A bit of the chocolate soaks into the wood. The fibrous texture easily allows for that.

Oh, of course! They’re like what we used to call “chocolate covereds” and were until recently known as Eskimo pies. I was misled by the expression “suck out” (from the stick) because it made me think of the stick as containing something or being hollow like a straw.

Yes, I always licked or sucked or scraped the last of the chocolate off the wooden stick, or tried to. And it did bother me that it didn’t hold onto the cold temperature. It felt like kind of a lame finish to the ice cream, but I couldn’t waste it. Back in the old days, they cost a nickel, and that was real money to a kid.

Haven’t had one in a long time. I never went for the fancy ones, though, such as Häagen-Dazs, because I was content with the simple, old-fashioned ones that had the right coating-to-contents ratio. I didn’t want to get hooked on something more expensive.

I see that my old favorites are made differently now under the new name (Edy’s Pie), with milk chocolate replacing the dark chocolate that balanced the flavors just right. Foo.

I prefer the Magnum Ice Cream because the stick is well made and sturdier than many of the others. I can work for hours making sure that no chocolate remains on the stick as the chocolate holds on to the stick with all its might. BTW, it’s a delicious chocolate to boot :)

I might have to stop following this. Feeling hungry and aroused simultaneously is fucking with my emotions.
