I think 2202022 (today) is a much more interesting date than 2/22/22 (day after tomorrow). Do you agree?

A lot of those dates that people call out as special (for ex., 8/8/88) lose their sparkle when you put the whole year in. But 2/20/2022 has some pizzazz.

I can’t quite figure out if we’ve ever had another one like that, without sticking in artificial lead zeroes.

Of course, the magic still depends on our conventions for writing the date. And anyway it doesn’t mean anything. It’s just fun to notice.

So do something special today that’s worth a memorable date.

Well, because it is all arbitrary anyway, I find them all to be fun, just for symmetry’s sake. I also sometimes like to pair alphabetical, numerological musings with dates to find a symmetry. Mostly just for the exercise of concentrating really hard on a pointless thing to clear my brain.
Goofy number fun has always been a favorite thing for me.

I agree. It uses the number for the year in its entirety and reads the same forwards and backwards.

It’s a great chronological palindrome, but so is the 22nd when it’s written European style and the slashes are included: 22/2/22.
