Am I expecting too much at work?
Last year I had to correct at least 10 data entry errors reported by employees because their SSN or DOB were incorrect. This has caused issues and/or delays to their health insurance and 401k accounts.
Going through reports, I happen to catch a couple more and as I was emailing the HR manager for help with something I happen to mention the data entry errors and if we can do something minimize mistakes like simply double checking work. I provided the list of incorrections as requested to she can see where the problem is coming from on her team. I mentioned it’s not too often but enough impact to really anger the employee. I get the heat for it, apologize to them for the inconvenience and try to calm them down it will be okay and I will try to expedite becauseit’s their health insurance so it seems important.
We are human and I know mistakes happen but am I expecting too much? Where I last worked where I did data entry I made sure to triple check lol there was never nearly this amount of errors but that’s just me.
