Including vodka, what goods and services, will be hard to get from the world's sanctions on Russian goods?

Will it bother you? Will you stock up?

I don’t drink Russian vodka, eat Russian caviar or drive Russian cars.

Gas and oil will be problematic.

I agree^^

Probably just vodka and this guy .
Without that guy, I won’t need as much vodka.

I don’t drink, but I don’t think that all vodka here is from Russia. Iceberg Canadian Vodka should still be readily available to you. Most of my friends brag about their Grey Goose and that comes from France. Smirnoff was a fan fave among my friends when I was younger and that is made in the US. One thing that I’m sure of is that a drunk will always have booze available to them.

I’ve never tasted Caviar so I won’t miss it. Other than that I don’t think I’ve been supporting the Russian economy.

The U.S., and I would guess Canada as well, has very little trade with Russia. I doubt that there is anything that we get from them that cannot be obtained somewhere else.

mainly mineral products and metals, with crude and refined petroleum making up for 54 percent of all exports.
main export product apart from resources is wheat.
Exported wheat from Russia was valued at about 6.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2012.

I don’t think we import that much stuff from Russia. Certainly not oil.

Jaxk's avatar

We imported over 17 Million barrels of oil from Russia last year

Not much, as seeing other countries will likely pick up the slack. Russia is hardly the only country that knows how to make vodka or dressing.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Compared to who else @Jaxk?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Russia isn’t even in the top 5 oil suppliers according to this article from NPR.

There is a lot of vodka made outside of Russia. Here’s a list of the best vodkas made in the US. https://www.thespruceeats.com/american-craft-vodkas-759242

@Dutchess_III – About 7% of all oil imports. You can see it here. There is a link to the EIA data as well.

I am not concerned at all about not receiving imports from Russia in America.

Our stores removed all Russian vodka. Doesn’t affect me.

According to this article in today’s news, many Americans are foregoing Russian vodka in favor of Ukraine’s Kozak vodka and are doing so in order to increase the sanctions against Russia. As a matter of fact, it seems that many people are buying more of the Ukraine vodka in order to support the country. Kozak vodka is now trending as the number 1 vodka to buy and offer to your guests. Actually, I was somewhat surprised to find that the US was selling so much Russian vodka to begin with considering the bad blood between us over the years. Since I don’t drink, I’ve not thought about what vodka was popular—live and learn

I love that people are actively taking part in the sanctions.

Well, this is much ado about nothing. Rick drinks Tvarscki vodka. It’s distilled and bottled in Missouri.

The Governor of NH signed an executive order on Saturday requiring the state liquor stores to pull all Russian liquor from their shelves. Wouldn’t it be great IF we could take down Russia with their own vodka??? ROFL

Dutchess_III's avatar

Why would we import vodka when we can make it in the states?

LadyMarissa's avatar

Possibly to support an ally while pissing off an enemy!!!

I drink less than a pint per year so nobody is going to get rich nor go broke on my habit!!! It’s been over a year since I last crossed the doorway into a liquor store.

A YouTube video said that 50% of the world’s sunflowers come from the Ukraine. Will that mean a sunflower oil shortage?

Dutchess_III's avatar

^^ Kansas will step up! The sun flower is the state flower.

Visa and Mastercard are now suspending their services in Russia.

Daym! Wish we’d been able to slap Hitler like this!
