Are there “see over” glasses that I don’t have to put at the end of my nose?

@JLeslie My wife has glasses with plano (no prescription) and reading in the lower bifocal. Most readers will have to be down your nose, if you don’t need a correction for far vision.

@snowberry I might try those! Thanks. Did she have to pull them down her nose to see over? I wonder if the other styles are the same height on the glass, they look a little higher. I’d rather have a pair without the nose thingies, but maybe it won’t matter as much with these glasses, because I won’t have to put them up on my head.

@Tropical_Willie It’s just nice to not look through glass when you don’t need the script.

Oh, I forgot to mention I didn’t know the lingo “half-frame” before, so your link helped me learn that so I can do others searching.

Bifocals work for me. The ones with lines, not the progressive lenses.

I don’t need transitions. I don’t use glasses outside.

I have bifocals, and they are fine, but I prefer to see far without the glass. Progressives don’t work for me, because of how I sit a lot of the time.

My local drug store carries reader bifocals. They look like regular glasses except the reader has a lower bifocal spot with the surrounding area clear, plain glass. You’ll still be looking through glass—just not a prescription. Clear lens with bifocal

I don’t want another pair of bifocals. I have prescription bifocals.

@JLeslie I don’t remember if mom had to slide her glasses down her nose or not. I have a pair like hers but there’s metal all the way around. They will fit snug up against my eyes, but if I want to see over them I’m going to have to slide them down a little.

You don’t have to put any glasses on the end of your nose….I promise.
