If I buy a property with a mobile home on it, is there a market to sell the house?

Do people buy mobile and manufactured homes on a secondary market and move it to their own lot?

Yes, sort of.

But it’s a much smaller base than the market for land and conventional homes. And a lot will depend on your location (rural or surburban areas will have more demand), along with the transport condition of the unit (are axels & frame in good condition and wheels available). Also you may have to sell it on your own since not many agents will be interested.

Generally, a used double-wide in decent condition will sell for a “move away” price of around $25k.

Yes. My MIL has lots only for those only, but it’s not easy to find decent used ones. Maybe ask around at trailer parks, too.

Look up on Google “mobile home dealers near me.” Ask them they will know the local market.

People can and do sell manufactured homes and move them, but I think it’s fraught with all sorts of problems.

1) can it move without falling apart? Is the frame structure and floor in good enough shape to make the movie?

2) You would have to deal with all the utilities (electric, gas?, water, etc.) and be sure that at the new location, the various hookups, drains, supply, etc., are in the right place.

Put it this way – if I were a potential buyer, the price would have to incredibly low (like FREE) to make up for the logistical hassles of the move, and the potential for damage.

@elbanditoroso That’s what I think! Sounds like a big headache.

It depends on where it sits.
