Are there any words or phrases that people use that will make you assume that the speaker is "mature?"?

“When I was your age” as in “When I was your age, we didnt have WiFi because we didn’t have computers. We had books or we did crafts or we played outside.” I say this to my daughter’s friends and I tell them it was like Little House on the Prairie. lol

No, but if they seen like they’re trying to sound smarter by using more big words I’ll assume they’re on the younger side trying to impress an audience.

My personal favorite for the younger kids is “Back in my day we didn’t have remotes for our TV. We had to actually stand up & walk over to our B&W TV to turn the knob to the channel we wanted to watch. Oh Yes…we only had 3 to watch & they went off air at midnight & didn’t come back on until 7:00am. Oh yes, we had to move the rabbit ears to a specific direction or we’d drop to 1 or 2 channels!!!

Of course they had remotes. They were called “kids”.
