What fictional "detective" type characters did you grow up with, that are not Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple, or Hercule Poirot?

Asked by ragingloli (52273points) March 17th, 2022

For me, it was radio-plays, featuring the character “Augustus Van Dusen”, and his trusted side-kick “Hutchinson Hatch”.

Rockford
Mannix
Cannon
Barnaby Jones.

I think the first three each sustained about 100 concussions in their careers, while Barnaby only got knocked out once that I saw. I don’t think JR or Booty were ever knocked unconscious.
