How could they have all those muscles from bodybuilding and be weak? Although they may not be flexible, but that has nothing to do with strength.

@smudges I am 6’5” and 270 pounds and I am strong in some areas and weak in others. I wonder how I would fair in a fight. You are correct that there is more to fighting than brute strength. So I guess we will never know seeing that I don’t want to end up in jail for fighting.

They’re NOT as strong as they look!!! Most are narcissists who THINK that they are great. The reality is that the smallest guy on the block can put them down with a the right blow!!! Now, before you pick a fight with a body builder, be sure to research where to hit him to drop him to his knees…then run like hell before he gets back up!!!

One trick bodybuilders use is repeatedly lifting small weights, not lifting large amounts.

My wife’s nephew was into body building for a while. Got huge. Very muscular.

Had him help carry some furniture once. Not strong at all. Also, could not fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

For him, at least, it was all for show.

How can someone be very muscular, as in, having muscles, yet the muscles have no strength? They can’t. The average BB is much stronger than the average person. Are they as strong as weightlifters or ‘strongmen’? No. . .but they’re not in competition to be strong, they’re in competition to be judged by muscle size and definition. Sure, you can call it ‘for show’ if you want, but that hardly means they’re weak. They also have very low muscle to fat ratios and even though their BMI may actually be in the obese range (over 30), it’s because muscle weighs more than fat. @RedDeerGuy1 If you run into a mean BB in a dark alley, run like hell!

A body builder I met, wasn’t extreme but was very healthy. She showed me a picture of her refrigerator and it was all neatly placed and organized prep meals.

Most of the normal ones are at least healthier.

My nephew is pretty strong and works out diligently and eats well. He’s fairly young and not a fighter but yes, there’s strength there.

Even the best fighter can be outsmarted.
Those who only rely on brute strengh can lose to a smarter and faster person no matter the size or experience.
Cops learn deflection to manipulate the perpetrator off to the side. Momentum.
Saw a demonstration of a man charging another and the offender was pushed to the side instead through deflecting his body off.
